moving stuff here because i don't want so many screenshot WIPs in my gallery
i will make this page fancy later...
fursona model
i was planning on using this in vr chat eventually, but mostly just wanted to have a model for animation
i'm mostly working on the hair and fur for now, the body is (mostly) done. after that is the long road of uv unwrapping and texture painting and the even longer road of weight painting and rigging
fursona to-do
- finish modelling hair + fur
- create armature
- weight painting
- uv unwrap
- texture painting
tira + misu models
all facial textures are rigged, now i've gotta do the clean up on the weight paints + add correction bones to the jointed areas & also rig the hair. i can probably get the hair done tomorrow but fixing the body's weird deformations will take some time T_T (but hopefully learning all this will make it easy for misu & my fursona model later)
so i decided to completely redo the head cause i realised i didn't want to model the eyelashes.... im using textures for the eyes and im gonna animate those instead ^^ also rigged tira! i also made the head lower poly of course because the eyes are gonna be textures... im going to have to do that to misu... or i'll just copy tira's head i think....
getting the eyelids to look right was so hard but i figured it out for the most part (it'll look more presentable with the lashes hopefully, i still don't have a plan for how im going to do those...)
kind of started this on a whim. i was playing around with CSP's 3d models, then I realised I could probably make some of my own for each of my characters.
i finally got both of their bodies done (saved some time by just copying tira's...) but i just have to finish merging and then its onto rigging + weight painting.
i think i've decided the main use of these models will be for short animations so im putting a bit more effort in
also the mouth (see tira) which you can barely see here is just a seperate flat plane, cause their mouths are a little weird (and im not really sure if i can actually texture paint it on the actual face and have it look correct) so im hoping that it'll look correct when i finally try to animate it.
i started from the eyes this time, placing vertices in the right places then working on the rest of the head. i saw this technique a lot in low poly videos and it's worked pretty well for me. also the relax looptool is a lifesaver!
tira+misu to-do
- rig hair
- rig hands
- fix weight paints
- add correction bones (if necessary)
- repeat everything i did above to misu!
picture book
currently reworking the story beats & thumbnailing the cover. i'm practically starting this project from scratch as my ideas for Moon and Elaine have changed quite a bit over the past year.
picture book to-do
- finish cover
- plot out each page
- thumbnail each page
- initial sketches on computer
- complete final pages traditionally
